What can I expect from this newsletter?

The quick answer: flooding info and tips. From experts...or people like you...who are working on approaches and decisions both at home and in their community. We will highlight stories of success and also some failures with lessons learned. But always try to keep it "bite-sized" so you are not overwhelmed.

Who is behind this?

We are a group of volunteer New Yorkers who have personally experienced flooding - many times. In talking about it, we thought we could share what we see and know to help others via a newsletter. Since a lot of flood mitigation has to happen on the "sunny days" in between floods, we thought this would be helpful to keep attention on useful things for you - and the city.

Does this cost anything?

No. We are just doing this to see if people like it. So it's free. But if it becomes much more work, we may consider optional donations or paid advertising in the future from relevant businesses.

Can I submit something to share or request a topic?

For sure. If you have experience dealing with flooding in NYC, and you have some lessons/tips to share, we would love to hear it. Email us at [email protected]

How much email will you send me?

Not much. We are trying to strike a balance between too much info and just enough at the right time. And we also know people don't want too much email....so we aim to keep it "light and tight," starting with about once a week. If a flooding event is happening in NYC, we may send a few more just to be timely and helpful. Of course, you can opt out any time (use the unsubscribe link at bottom of each email).
